The AANI Farm Tour will visit Sweet & Fit Stevia Farm in Tambobong, Bocaue, Bulacan on Feb. 5, 2017. This is the first commercial grower and processor of Stevia powder, a sweetener for various food products and beverages started and operated by Mrs. Maura D. de Leon and her family some 12 years ago.
The farm is accredited as an agritourism destination by the Department of Tourism.The tourists will be able to see how Stevia is cultivated and multiplied by rooting the cuttings. The visitors can also partake of the food products sweetened with Stevia powder which is very healthy because as a sweetener the powder has zero calorie. It is therefore perfect for dieters and diabetics.
Sweet & Fit products include what Mrs. Maura de Leon, the founder, calls Glorious Blend Health Coffee and Choco. There’s a best-selling 7 in 1 Coffee Blend, a 7 in 1 Choco Mix and Maxitrim Slimming Coffee. The ingredients include extracts of Moringa or malunggay, mangosteen, Stevia and Gotu Kola.
Sweet & Fit is the recipient of “Best Organic-Based Sweetener and Dietary Supplement, National Museum Botany Division Certificate No. 922, and Proven Safe by the FNRI-DOST#ITDI-BIO-201-0767.
The farm has an Events Center where seminars, trainings, team building, reunions, birthdays, weddings, baptismal and other occasions can be held. There are three packages for tourists. Package A is a tour with welcome snacks costing P100 per head. Package B is tour with food and drinks, and Package C is educational tour, private tour or group tour (applicable for 15 or more persons.
There are facilities for holding Urban Farming for kids and adults, cooking demo, vermicomposting seminar, wall climbing, zip line, target shooting, medicinal plants and herbs, and others.
