Adela Ang’s Adelle Ashitaba Powder has been given Certificate of Product Registration as food supplement by the Food & Drug Administration.The leaves and stems of Ashitaba which are rich in chlorophyll and fiberare processed into powder by Philherbs Nutraceuticals Laboratories.
This is a significant development because, now the powder may be packaged into capsules for easy marketing of Ashitaba which has many health attributes. Private entrepreneurs can purchase the powder to make their own capsules for commercial purposes. Aside from making capsules, the powder can be used to fortify food products like noodles, ice cream, pan de sal and other baked products. The powder can also be added to soups and rice being cooked.
