If you want to witness the most exciting ornamentals, orchids and fruit trees in container at the 2019 Kadayawan Agri Trade Fair in Davao City, make sure to be there on August 12, 2019. The landscape exhibits cum competitions will be open to the public, according to Vicky Jimenez, hardworking workhorse of the annual event. The trade show is at the SM Annex grounds at Ecoland.
Your blogger, Zac B. Sarian, will also be there to meet fellow plant lovers, old time friends and acquaintances and of course to meet new ones. We are looking forward to see new varieties of fruit trees, new hybrids of foliage and flowering ornamentals like aroids, bromeliads and many more.
Of course, we also look forward to partaking of our favorite marang, mangosteen, longkong and durian. Also, we look forward to meeting again Davao friends like Elsa Galang and her hubby Angel who is famous for his superior Galang 69 durian, Larry Miculob who has a 15-hectare durian farm in Calinan, Tony Partoza who has durian and longkong plantations, Nhel Belviz and his wife Mary Grace who have durian and chocolate processing facilities. Likewise, we look forward to meeting again Jaime Chua of Cebu City who has an extensive collection of Waling-waling and other orchid species, and the plant freaks from Luzon that include Vangie Go, Vic Chin and many more.
From Davao City, we will proceed to Kidapawan, North Cotabato where we will attend their fruit festival and meet Dr. Alfredo S. Villarico, acknowledged Mangosteen King of the Philippines. We have met him many years before when he was phasing out his rubber trees in favor of mangosteen.
See you there at the Kadayawan Agri Trade Fair which actually started last August 1 and will run through August 31, 2015.
