We remember a loyal follower of our articles from Bukidnon. When we met him a few years back, he was not selling his sheep because he wanted to increase his population to about 200 head and then sell the whole flock in one swing.
How? He has targeted owners of big ochards in Mindanao. He would offer his flock to them as lawn mowers in their fruit farms. That could be a good idea because sheep are docile animals that will only eat the grass and not damage the trees, unlike goats.
Because his sheep are of the good breed, each would at least fetch P1,500. And that would gross him a cool P300,000 in just one sale. Sheep are fast to multiply and are much easier to manage than goats.
A bright idea if you ask us. The oechard owner could eventually become a big supplier of sheep in the market for breeding or for meat.
