For almost three months from the time Typhoon Yolanda struck the two-hectare orchid farm of Edna Viterbo in Roxas City, it seemed nothing could revive the Dendrobiums that were already productive before the tragedy.
She said she tried applying all kinds of fertilizers but it was as if nothing can revive them. Then she read in a magazine about Power Grower Combo that her old-time friend, Alfonso G. Puyat, had formulated.
Edna said she called up Mr. Puyat and told him the tragic story about her orchids. Puyat sent her a box of his formulation, and lo and behold! By April, all of Edna’s Dendrobiums were flowering. It was as if some kind of miracle happened, she said.
This is her story. When her husband Gabby died seven years ago, Edna decided to invest the proceeds of his insurance in an orchid cut flower farm since that was really what she loved to do.
She said that she was doing quite well when Typhoon Frank hit her farm in 2008. She lost everything and was about to give up but then she was offered a loan and so she was able to rebuild.
Then just when her orchids were mature enough and flowers were at their peak, Typhoon Yolanda hit her farm last November and this time it was totally destroyed. She said every thing was gone including the greenhouses, tables, watering systems, electricity and the orchids were strewn about, covered with all the debris.
The cement posts of her greenhouses were all broken like matchsticks. Nets and plastic footings were shredded to pieces. She confessed she was really about to give up but then she thought of her 20 regular employees who all lost their houses and if she had stopped, they would have no income and that would add to their problems.
Edna said she just prayed to the Lord to help her. With no income at all, somehow she said she was able to come across with the payroll, rebuild the employees’ homes and save whatever she could of her orchid plants.
“It was disheartening to see my plants with no leaves at all and I lost more than half of them. I tried all kinds of fertilizers but it was as if nothing can revive them. Then I came across Power Grower Combo in a magazine article which was invented by an old time college friend, Alfonso ‘Jing’ Puyat.”
She continues: “I called him up and upon hearing my predicament, he sent me a whole box of Power Grower Combo. That was end of January 2014. The first two weeks, I sprayed every other day alternating it with fertilizer. Then I sprayed it twice a week when I noticed a lot of new growth and then now I spray every six days. As if by some miracle, by April, barely three months since I started using this miraculous Power Grower Combo, my orchids are all abloom. Even the old bare stems have flower spikes. It really is a miracle. I still have a lot to do but at least I have income to sustain my employees.”
Actually, Power Grower Combo works wonders on many other crops, including sugarcane, fruit trees, vegetables, rice, corn, tobacco and more. Mr. Puyat explains that the formulation has a growth accelerator and contains chelated microelements which speed up the growth of plants.
