Jason Villegas and Emem Mandanas, marketing manager and marketing coordinator, respectively, of Ramgo, one of the pioneer seed companies in the Philippines, are seen showing samples of a starter growing kit intended as a tool for educating school kids on growing crops, especially short-gestating vegetables and herbs.
Each starter kit includes a plastic pot for growing the plant, seeds, potting medium and a piece of paper in which the grower notes down his observations while the plant growth is in progress. Among the seeds are mungbean, pechay, herbs and others. Ramgo, by the way, will observe its 50th anniversary in 2017 for which a big celebration that will be held in its research station in Bongabon, Nueva Ecija, is being prepared.
