SWEET FORTUNE: A New Promising Sweet Corn Hybrid

A new hybrid sweet corn that is claimed to be high-yielding even during the rainy season has been introduced in the Philippines by Ramgo Seeds. It is called Sweet Fortune F1 and is claimed to be good for both the wet and dry seasons. It is said to have a high recovery of Class A ears, big cylindrical cobs with excellent eating quality.

In plantings in the farm of Ronald Dimaunahan in Candelaria, Quezon, it was observed to have high resistance to lodging, stalk rot and blight which are the main problems of sweet corn growers. The variety is harvestable in 70 days from planting.
